We're Getting into the Routine!

Group Meeting:  Before we start group meeting every day, I play a dance video that gets us up and moving.  The movement gets our brains working and works out some of the wiggles that we have.  Yesterday, we did Freeze Dance and today's song was If You're a Kid.

Story:  The story for today was Harry the Dirty Dog by Gene Zion.  Harry is a white dog who does not like to take baths.  One day, Harry hears the water running and thinks that he is going to get a bath.  He buries the scrub brush in the back yard and runs away.  While he is gone, he gets very dirty and becomes a black dog.  When he gets hungry and returns home, his owners do not recognize him.  Ask your child to tell you what happens next.  After reading this story, we compared the story from yesterday to today's.  They were both about mistaken identity!

Large Group:  Zoey and Max were back to tell us about our rule "We take care of ourselves".  They gave us several examples such as walking, using a tissue, washing hands, putting things away, and how to use scissors.  There is a note in your child's bag about our school rules.

Snacks:  The snack for today was Wheat Thins and cheese with water to drink.

Have a wonderful long weekend!

Thank you!

Hello and good-bye.  This will be my last post for this school year.  This year certainly did not end the way I expected or wanted it to.   ...
