Group Meeting:  Today was the first Birthday Day of the school year.  I explained to the children that on Birthday Day, we do a cooking activity.  Our cooking project was French Toast.  We made this in Small Groups right before play time.

Story:  The book that I read today was Apple, Oranges, Pears, and Plums.  This is a book of the months of the year with the children's names included during the month of their birthday.  We will refer to this book throughout the year as we celebrate birthdays.

Small Groups:  The children made French Toast.  They cracked eggs into a bowl, whisked the eggs together, dipped the bread in the egg, and placed it on a baking sheet.  We sprinkled a little bit of cinnamon sugar on top.  I put the baking sheet in the oven until snack time.  I managed to get a few pictures of this.

Large Group:  The children completed a Let's Find Out magazine about sharing.  We watched the accompanying video about how to share in the classroom.  They completed the maze and coloring section on the back.

Snacks:  The children ate the French Toast with juice or water.  We lit a candle for each birthday child and sang Happy Birthday.  We use Little Debbie Brownies as our Birthday Brownies.

Thank you!

Hello and good-bye.  This will be my last post for this school year.  This year certainly did not end the way I expected or wanted it to.   ...
