What a beautiful day we had yesterday! I was able to work in the yard for a little bit, but I mostly enjoyed just sitting in my lawn chair in the warm sunshine. I hope that you had time to be outside, too. I'm wearing my bunny ears today to wish you a Happy Easter! Let's do the Easter Bunny Dance and Freeze! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZFRg1GucZ8
Story/Literacy: The Dr. Seuss story that I would like you to read today is Green Eggs and Ham. Here is a link if you do not have this book https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdotPwVJYzs This book is filled with rhyming words. Count how many pairs of rhyming words you hear in this book. Have a grown-up write them down for you. Do you think you'd like to try green eggs and ham? Have you ever tried a food that you thought that you would not like and found out that you really do? I thought that I would not like avocados, but I found out that I do especially in guacamole.
Science Activity: I'm guessing that you might have some plastic Easter Eggs at your house. If so, try this experiment. Will a plastic egg float (if your eggs have holes at the top, you may need to put tape over the hole)? Fill a bowl with water and add the egg. Think of something that you could put in the egg to make it sink. Try many items and see what happens. What will happen if you put a real egg into the water? Will it sink or float? If you have a hard boiled egg, try that. Does cooking the egg make any difference?
Scavenger Hunts: I am sharing a link to the Primary Playground website. The creator of this website has made several scavenger hunts that are fun (and educational). I especially like the math and inventor hunts. Print out one try it! https://primaryplayground.net/scavenger-hunts/
A parent would like to share this website with you. It is a template for creating a time capsule to help remember this eventful time in history. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MaM2RBrqyDeyKFCG8impDgfuZ8a2tIZ-/view?fbclid=IwAR2yWpI8K34eesfWzpBlhgDoUQmWdtKk7ekZ3_SN2OO0OPykDv7kv3EGkOI
Here are some pictures from Monday's activities. Thank you for sharing them. I love seeing everyone!
